Coach Ernie Jackson


Coach Jackson brings over 30 years of youth baseball experience across Little League, Pony, and Summer Baseball at the high school level. He has extensive travel and club baseball experience; coaching with several premier organizations. Coach Ernie was Co-Founder and Assistant Coach of the Mission Viejo Jaguars for five years, holding high national rankings, winning a number of tournaments and national titles. He was also Training Coordinator and Coach for California Yard Dawgs for two years, and was affiliated with the Cal Knights from 2004 to 2013 coaching and running clinics for ages 8-18 years old. Coach Jackson has been running his own program, SURF since 2014.

Coach Jackson has coached five World Series and has taken several teams to compete out of state including Cooperstown. He also managed both of his son’s Little League and All-Stars teams from age 6-14.

Coach Jackson trained and coached his son into the college ranks. he has been an intricate part of many players making their high school baseball teams, and has been involved in some way coaching a number of players who have reached college ranks. Jackson’s players have attended and played for such College schools include UCLA, Cal State Fullerton, Washington, ASU, Georgetown, Colorado Pueblo, Southern Baptist as well as a number of Community Colleges. His alumni have gone on to be part of the Oakland A’s, Pirates, Indians, and Tampa Bay.

Aside from his coaching activities, Coach Jackson has served for many years on the Board of Directors of South Mission Viejo Little League, Southern California Baseball Association, and as a United States Sports Specialties Association Tournament Director for four years.

Coach Jackson has a well established passion for the game of baseball with a tough intense focus on fundamentals as well as physical and mental instruction.
